Among the tricks to achieving a lower golf handicap is consistency. You have to consistent to lower your scores and reduce strokes from your handicap.

If you wish to accomplish consistency, moving your weight correctly is essential. So, here is a golf lesson on weight transfer through the swing.

Yet that’s easier explained then done. Many golf enthusiasts have a hard time to achieve appropriate weight transmission. Also golfers often have difficulty with this. Poor weight transfer is one of the most typical swing mistakes in majority of golf lessons. It’s specifically common with golf players that play occasionally. Transfer Your Weight 

Usually, when turning a club, you transfer your weight onto your back foot during your takeaway, then into your frontal foot throughout the follow-through. They make the change effortlessly and effectively. That’s why they’re so consistent when striking a golf ball. None of them exhibit anything even close to a reverse pivot.

With a reverse pivot, you do the reverse of what you need to do. As opposed to moving your weight to your back foot then to your front foot, you move it to your frontal foot throughout your takeaway and back to your back foot throughout the follow through. This move tightens your body turn, short-circuiting power and preventing consistency. Golf player’s that show a reverse pivot don’t obtain a lot on their drives or iron shots.

Causes of a Reverse Pivot

Causes for a reverse pivot are lots of. A fixation with keeping your head down, an attempt at holding your left arm (right for left-handers) rigidly right, and/or allowing your head to rely on the right as you turn the club back-all reason a reverse pivot. So if you discover yourself doing these things, you may be using a reverse pivot in your swing without understanding it.

One way to do away with the reverse pivot is to practice this drill: Adopt your address position, and backswing position the club across the back of your shoulders. Now turn as though you were about to hit the ball. As you turn back, the club encourages your head and spine to rotate. Feel your balance as you do this. An excellent suggestion is to obtain the hang of this is to watch out of the edge of your left eye (right for left-handers) on top of your swing. Practice this drill as frequently as you can … and then keep doing it.

Another drill-one that appears to get better results is to start with a sort iron and assume your setup position. From your set up, lift your forward foot and position it next to your back foot. As you swing, take the club away from the ball, lift your forward foot, and allow it to return to the original position in your setup as soon as your club reaches about waist high in your backswing.

This drills trains your body to shift your weight to your back foot at the beginning of the backswing and permits your body to shift its weight toward the front foot at the end of the backswing, and then on through the downswing. It also promotes a much healthier spin angle, both atop your swing and into the finish.

Effective weight transfer is necessary to creating a swing that provides power and reliability constantly. Achieving consistency-whether by taking a golf lesson  or through working things out on your own-is the only way to lower your golf handicap.
